On The Edge: photographs from the edges of Britain
Since moving to Brighton from London a few years ago, I've found myself increasingly photographing around the edges of Britain. I'm drawn to the simplicity of the coast. This work is a result of that ongoing fascination and contrast. Being a collection of island nations and peoples, Brits have always been tied to the sea. As the UK stands on the edge of Brexit it seems ever more important to stand on the edge of the land, to look at ourselves, as well as at the horizon and beyond. These images were shown from 19-27 October 2018 at Nick Ford Photography, 19 Oxford Street, Brighton, BN1 4LA, as part of Brighton Photo Fringe 2018.
